FAQ
What is PJI?
PJI is the Philadelphia Joke Initiative. PJI is a non-profit comedy advocacy organization that supports, promotes, and produces all things comedy in Philadelphia.
Who is PJI?
PJI was founded by Kate Sabato and Alexis Simpson, two city residents with years of theater experience and a passion for jokes. Kate can be spotted behind the scenes at the city’s top professional theater companies like the Arden and 1812 Productions; Alexis is often found acting like a complete idiot with ComedySportz Philly, Rare Bird Show, and any other place that will let her.
Where is PJI?
PJI is comedy, and Comedy Is Everywhere, my friend. But if you’re asking physically: best to reach us at our address listed on our About page.
When is PJI?
PJI is available online 24 hours a day, 365 a year. Unless the server crashes. And we all pray that it will.

WHY is PJI? AKA Aren’t there enough theater companies in Philadelphia as it is?
Although many local theater companies create amazing comedic productions, there is still a lack of support for individual comedy artists and non-traditional productions. PJI wants to ensure that no good joke dies due to lack of resources.
What is that on your logo?
That is the King of Birds. You will bow to him, and you will like it.
