Support PJI

Scroll down for info on our HATS OFF! To PJI campaign!

Why support PJI?

We produce first-rate comedic shows for diverse audiences.
We’re just over 6 months old, and already we have established ourselves as a dynamic force in the Greater Philadelphia performing arts scene by offering the community a monthly stand-up comedy show, a full-length run of the improvised play Cecily and Gwendolyn’s Fantastical Balloon Ride, and numerous one-night only performances. These events offer Philadelphia’s comedic artists opportunities for paid work, and they offer audiences of all ages the opportunity to laugh, laugh, LAUGH!

Our plans for the coming year include the improvised musical Rodgers and Hammerstein Are Dead (opens May 13th), a return of Cecily and Gwendolyn’s Fantastical…, a 24-hour improv marathon, and a debut work from a budding Philadelphia playwright – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Ticket sales alone do not support the cost of high-quality comedy productions.
Even if we sold every seat at every performance, we would not meet our annual operating costs. We rely on donations from comedy enthusiasts like you to produce shows like Cecily and Gwendolyn’s Fantastical Balloon Ride, Open Mic Sandwich, and the upcoming Rodgers and Hammerstein Are Dead.

Your contribution is tax-deductible.
PJI is proud to receive fiscal sponsorship from Freefall Productions, a 501(c)3 tax-exempt theatre company specializing in the art of improvisation. Your donation to Freefall Productions is tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

We are committed to supporting comedy, and comedians in the greater Philadelphia area.
Our budget for Rodgers and Hammerstein Are Dead is $10,000. A substantial portion of that budget is committed to wages and stipends for our cast, artistic team, and crew. Proceeds from ticket sales are enough to cover operating costs like venue, insurance, and utilities. Your tax-deductible contributions go directly towards providing a living wage for artists like the cast and crew of Rodgers and Hammerstein Are Dead.
